E-Notarization & Signatory Privileges

Column employs in-house notaries with remote online notary privileges. This not only speeds up the process by eliminating manual work but also ensures that newspaper staff don’t need to be physically present to verify affidavits.

State Laws & Compliance

Column is compliant with e-signing and e-notarization regulations across all 50 states. For example, if an affidavit is notarized by a Florida notary, it will be governed by Florida law, regardless of the signatory’s location.

Verification

By leveraging the publisher’s e-editions, Column verifies each notice against its printed version to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Cost & Payment

A per affidavit fee is paid by the advertiser for each completed document. This can be noted separately from the invoice or included within the Column processing fee.
